James Long for TopmanMove over Versace x H&M, there's a new collaboration in town. Centering on luxury knitwear, the ensembles focus on derailing knitted jumpers as confined formal pieces to bohemian art. Each piece, echoing Long's past, are individually crafted from British yarns. A process that is in short supply in the retail department. His unique collection encourages the batting of fashion's current obsession with structure by turning to garish plaids, bizarre oversized polka-dots and a new-found emphasis on rock-ability. All distilled onto luxury jumpers and cardigans. British musical icons such as the Sex Pistols serve as Long's main inspiration, with ripped jeans and converse being the norm of all the gritty outfits. The added use of peaking American flag fabric and waist-wrapped shirts all encourage a very East-End, 60's punk aesthetic.
